Rental Properties

The goal of the North Carolina Indian Housing Authority is to provide clean, safe, adequate, and affordable housing for qualified “FAMILIES” and the “ELDERLY”. Our Rentals are offered to qualified families with “Low to Moderate income levels”. Applications are reviewed and ranked based on the information provided by YOU -THE APPLICANT and verified through State, Federal, and local third-party entities.

Mutual Self-Help Program

The Mutual Self-Help Housing Program empowers families to achieve home ownership through teamwork and dedication. Participants work together to build their own homes, gaining valuable skills and reducing costs in the process. We proudly serve Cumberland, Hoke, Robeson, and Scotland Counties, helping families throughout these regions achieve their home ownership dreams.   1. 502 Direct Program (Homeownership)
    Designed for low and very-low-income families, the 502 Direct Program provides affordable financing options to help families purchase or build homes in North Carolina.
  2. 504 Grant/Loan Program
    • 504 Grant: Available to homeowners aged 62 or older who are considered very low-income, the grant helps with essential home repairs, improvements, and accessibility upgrades.
    • 504 Loan: Provides financial assistance for very low-income families who qualify, helping make critical home improvements affordable.
